Why we’re here- Mark Moroni

Why am I working for THE SHO? A question that I have not put much thought into because I knew all along, but never had to explicitly tell someone else.

I find tons of joy in helping communities and under-represented sports clubs that have been marginalized by the monopolization of traditional media. Or democratizing the sports industry by giving athletes the tools to turn their passion into a living, while unifying communities through the power of sports. As powerful as those missions are, that's not truly why I am here.

There are a lot of great companies changing the world for the better with bigger than life missions. So, it comes back to the question, Why am I working for THE SHO? As simple as this may sound, because I am supporting a fearless leader whom I believe in. A person who has taken a chance only few others have the willpower to take, and who turned his life upside down to create a company. A relentless founder who will not stop until this company succeeds.

That person happens to be my brother. I am here to support Dan unconditionally, no matter how big this task may seem. I have been here since the inception of the idea, experiencing the family backlash of how crazy this journey is, to finally having this thing he created at a point where I never thought we could get to. Throughout all he never hesitated.

So even if I don’t want to work for THE SHO, I don't have a choice because even when everyone could give up, he won’t. So as long as he is my brother, I will either directly or indirectly support THE SHO, because THE SHO is part of the family, and now this community we are creating is becoming a new family.

I am not sure if this is a cliche response or not, that’s for you to decide. Regardless, this is why I will support THE SHO until THE END.

Much love,

Mark Moroni
